LBI Music Entertainment

Outdoor concerts and family-friendly dance parties will put you into the right state of mind. Plan to attend some of the free, family-friendly live music events and enjoy LBI entertainment. Whether you like rock, blues, oldies, jazz, hip-hop or tropical beach tunes, you can hear a variety of music this summer. Let go of your cares and experience the easy going, creatively inspired culture of Long Beach Island.

You can enjoy live music everyday on the beach at Spray Beach Hotel’s oceanfront pavilion. The dining ambiance at Sand Dollar Restaurant is reason enough to spend the evening, but the mouthwatering dinner menu and specially blended adult beverages are really the deal maker! Seating, bathrooms, food and drinks are within reach so you won’t have to miss a beat! Public parks are hosting free concerts under the stars in Beach Haven, Ship Bottom, and Harvey Cedars. Take a few chairs and cold drinks for a fun, musical night under the stars.

The newly reopened Surflight Theatre has a full schedule of concerts coming to the stage this year. Also, check out Fantasy Island Amusement Park, known for hosting kid-friendly dance parties on the weekends. It’s free to get in, and for a few bucks you can go on some rides.

Nightlife and live music for adults is easy to find downtown in Beach Haven. Every night, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, you can hear live music and enjoy frozen drinks in the salt air. Several local bars and taverns keep a full calendar of shows through the summer, like Buckalew’s, Nardi’s and Joe Pop’s. You can sit in on a performance by the island’s best artists, or you can catch a show with one of the bands visiting from Philly or New York.

LBI Shows and Plays

If you haven’t heard, the Surflight Theatre of Long Beach Island has reopened this summer! This is one the local treasures that shut down after Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012. Now with a new owner, a ton of renovations, and a refreshed pool of talented actors and musicians, the Surflight Theatre is captivating local audiences once again. There is a full line up of plays and concerts on the Long Beach Island 2017 schedule. See what’s playing on the Main Stage, Concerts, and the Children’s Theatre. You can purchase tickets now to save yourself a seat!

The Bellarine Theatre Company is another local source of LBI performing arts and entertainment. “Cry Baby, the Musical” is playing in July and “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is coming this fall. The Bellarine Theatre Company partners with Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences and other local venues to host their plays.

For those interested in short films and cinematography mark your calendars for LBI’s Lighthouse International Film Festival, which is hosted each year in June. This four-day festival draws artists and movie lovers to the Island for workshops, screenings, panels, and breakfast with the filmmakers.
