As fall keeps on ticking and we get closer to Winter, don’t let the shorter days and cooler temperatures get to you! There is a lot to do indoors, with a beautiful ocean backdrop to keep your soul at ease! If you need a weekend to unwind, check out this itinerary for a quiet weekend to reset and prepare for the coming holidays! A few days on the island is just what you need!
Day 1
If you head to the island after work on day 1 of your long weekend, check out the Clams and Oysters at Sand Dollar Restaurant and Beach Bar in Beach Haven. What would a trip to the beach be without some fresh seafood? Whether you prefer Barnegat Bay Clams or Delaware Bay Oysters, they are available by the half-dozen. Not to mention, fried, stuffed or cocktail options, whatever your bi-valve preference is, the itch will get scratched at the Sand Dollar. Check out their full menu of land and sea options here. The most convenient thing about the Sand Dollar Restaurant is that it is attached to a hotel. The Spray Beach Hotel’s close-by location means you can have a few cocktails and not worry about driving afterward.
Day 2
Take a walk around the NJ Museum of Maritime History in Beach Haven. From the life saving service exhibit to the Antique navigational equipment, you will be enthralled! Our favorite part though, is the shipwreck artifacts and directory. Get lost in your imagination as you feel transported to another world under the sea! Check out the hours here to plan your visit!
Day 3
Take a class at Swell Colors Glass Studio & Gallery in Surf City! With options ranging from a mosaic mirror to garden steps, you can unwind and tap into your creative side in one of the classes here. Or, you can just hit the shop and hop on someone else’s creativity. Check out the options here. I Call to check schedule and space availability.
No matter what you decide to do on Long Beach Island, the smell of salt and the sand nearby is sure to give you the boost you need at fall keeps on rolling!
