Jazzy Scallop Festival – June 23
Fill your plate with delicious, local seafood prepared by LBI chefs at Viking Village as you enjoy the jazzy sounds of summer. The Jazzy Scallop Festival will include a silent auction and 50/50 all of which support education for South Jersey high school students.
Comedy Concert with Sarge – July 15
Take some time to laugh and unwind during your 2018 summer vacation on LBI with SARGE. SARGE is a world-wide, extraordinary entertainer. His unique combination of vocals and superb piano ability combined with his side-splitting comedy has wowed his fans for decades. He will be performing live at the JCC of LBI this July.
Antique and Collectible Show – August 5
If crafts, antiques, and collectibles are things that you enjoy, be sure to check out the antique and collectible show happening at Viking Village this August. Admission is free. While you’re there, you will find a fresh seafood lunch and coffee bar along with 75 vendors providing one of a kind antiques that you won’t find anywhere else.
Harvey Cedars Blue Crab Race & Arts Festival – August 18
PBA 175 is sponsoring this day of fun with free parking and admission. Crafters will display handmade goods including many unique and unusual items created by local artists. The Blue Claw Crab race is for children is open for registration. Race your crab or rent one from Harvey Cedars Activity Committee. Racing a crab is one story that your family won’t forget from your 2018 summer vacation on LBI.

Favorite Things To Do Each Year
LBI is a destination that families visit year after year. Make sure that during your 2018 LBI summer vacation, you visit a few of the annual events including city wide festivals as well as weekly and daily activities.
Hop Sauce Festival – June 2
Spicy food, brews, and live music draw in crowds every year for The Hop Sauce Festival. Hosted at Veterans Memorial Park, the event is touted as a celebration of people. Come for the live bands, the local food, or the 50 varieties of craft beer but whatever you do, come for the love that you’ll feel when you experience some of the best that LBI has to offer. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jetty Rock Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving community through a variety of initiatives.
Lighthouse International Film Festival – June 7-10
This year, the 2018 Lighthouse International film Festival is celebrating its 10th year of great films and local events. The film festival is a special LBI event that presents feature films, short films, family films, and documentaries as well as panel discussions with leading film industry professionals. The festival was founded by a collection of film industry professionals as well as critics and filmmakers. The non-profit is dedicated to fostering growth and awareness for the next generation of filmmakers.
Beach Haven White Marlin Invitational Tournament – July 25-28
Now in its 49th year, the Beach Haven White Marlin Invitational is an LBI summer classic. The tournament is the largest invitational fishing tournament in America. The four day event opens daily between 4:30-8 with free admission. This family event includes food trucks, bar, live music, kids’ games, and tournament gears for sale.

You don’t have to wait for a specific event to plan your 2018 LBI summer vacation, though. There are daily activities to explore throughout the island. The beaches on LBI are clean, beautiful, and one of a kind! When you’ve had enough fun in the sun, you can unwind with some oceanfront bites and sips at the patio bar at Spray Beach Inn or catch a show at the Surflight Theatre. Shopping and food are never out of reach. Visit the shopping district at Bay Village and Schooner’s Wharf for gift shops, bookstores, and more.

Spent many weeks there this summer. I was a regular OCMD vacationer who has fallen in love with LBI. I have younger children so the beach at the Bayview park is lovely. They can go out without us by their side as the bay waters are super calm and not deep while we lounge on the sand. I thought I’d miss the boardwalk but honestly Bay village and schooners wharf are just as nice without all the “trash” of a boardwalk. Haven’t ran into a bad restaurant yet.
