Annual Traditions Return to LBI –  2019 Summer Events

The Lighthouse International Film Fest (June 6-9)

Grab some popcorn and pull up a seat! The Lighthouse International Film Festival is celebrating it’s 11th year and it’s happening this upcoming weekend. Tons of entertainment is packed into this four day festival and you won’t want to miss it. Individual tickets can be purchased, but go for the all access pass and you can join meet and greets with filmmakers, a breakfast panel Q&A, priority seating and parties on Friday and Saturday nights. If you purchase individual tickets, you can choose from a wide variety of short films, documentaries, and feature films to fit your interests.

 

Ship Bottom Fire Company’s 7th Annual Block Party (July 6)

While you’re checking for 2019 summer events on Long Beach Island, check out this event hosted by Ship Bottom’s Fire Company. For the seventh year in a row, you can join in on the Craft Beer and Food Truck Block Party downtown. No festival is complete without live music and great food! Then add in local craft beer, a Chinese auction and some outdoor games while you enjoy the sun and fun.

 

White Marlin Invitational Tournament (July 23-27)

Further into July, check out the 50th White Marlin Invitational Tournament in Beach Haven. This festival is open to the public and features food, music, craft beer and even fish weigh-ins for the contest participants. If you’re in town during this event, don’t miss the longest running White Marlin tournament in the country. It will be a great addition to your 2019 summer vacation on Long Beach Island.

19th Annual Classic Car Show (July 27)

After you enjoy the marlin tournament, head over to Waterfront Park at 10th and Shore Avenue and enjoy the sights at the car show in Ship Bottom. Food and drinks available are at this event put on by the Vintage Automobile Museum of New Jersey.

Viking Village Arts and Crafts Show (July 14)

Check out the vendors at the rain or shine, free admission event at Historic Viking Village. With over 70 vendors presenting their wares, you’re sure to catch some interesting finds in areas like ceramics, photography, handmade jewelry, clothing, wood crafts and fine arts. If antiques are more your thing, come by in August for the Antiques and Collectibles Show in the same location.

 

 

Festival of the Sea (August 8-12)

Here’s a whole family event for your 2019 summer vacation on Long Beach Island! Pay one flat admission fee for any night to ride all the rides unlimited times and have a chance to enter hourly 50/50s and enjoy some great carnival food along with it.

 

ManaHOPkin (August 10)

ManaHOPkin is one of the area’s best 2019 summer events, and even though it’s a hop, skip and a jump from Long Best Island, it’s worth it! Manahawkin Lake Park is the place to be on August 10th. Come for the first or second tasting session to sample lots of local brews and uniquely delicious food choices. No outdoor festival is complete without some great live tunes in the air. Pets are welcome, too!

 

Fun Things to Do All Summer, No Planning Needed

Besides all of these 2019 summer events on our list, there are fun things to do all summer long on Long Beach Island. No matter when you visit, your 2019 summer vacation will have no shortage of options – including great LBI hotels to sleep over! The pace of your vacation can be as laid back or as adventurous as you desire!

Enjoy Live Outdoor Music

Pull up a blanket or chair on Monday nights at Bayview Park for a free concert series of sweet live music. If the beach is more your speed, go chek out the Sunday music concert series from June 30 through September 1st every afternoon from 1-3. There’s outdoor live musical entertainment to be found almost any night of the week on Long Beach Island.

 

 

Watersports and Other Activities

If you’d like to escape for a little while, check out the local boats you can charter or rent a pair of jet skis or wakeboards for some fun on the water. These options are great anytime during your 2019 summer vacation on Long Beach Island, and local surf shops are the place to find the best instructors to show you the way.
