Peak Season Summer Events in LBI
The most popular time to visit Long Beach Island is while kids are out of school. The island’s bayside and ocean waters bring crowds of sunbathers, surfers and fishermen. Local business owners and nonprofits put together events each year to attract and entertain tourists and locals alike. You can always find fun Summer events in LBI.
July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
Pick a spot on the bayside at dusk and enjoy the spectacular Independence Day show. This is a traditionally patriotic thing to do and it’s presented by a group of volunteers known as the Red, White and Blue Committee. July 4th is better spent on the beach in LBI because you can easily go and watch the firework display over the water that night!
Summer Sizzle Block Party
This annual block party was coordinated four years ago to support the volunteer fire department – the same fire department that responded when Superstorm Sandy hit LBI. This is a great thing to do while visiting the island and it costs $5 per person. (kids under 11 are free) Enjoy live music, food and games, auctions and raffle prizes at the Summer Sizzle Block Party.
Concerts on the Green
Every summer, Beach Haven’s Community Arts Program arranges over ten outdoor concerts that are open to the public. If you’re looking for free things to do this summer in LBI, don’t miss Concerts on the Green. Take a blanket or some beach chairs and head over to Veterans Memorial Park for a relaxing evening under the stars.
There is nothing like spending the summer in LBI. Shake up the beach with fun things to do in between sunning and swimming. If you plan ahead, you will be ready to take part in the best summertime events on the island!
